You’ll find very fast DC chargers (currently up to 500KW) at many service stations or A roads and in some cities. More and more petrol stations are adding rapid chargers. These use the rapid “CCS” connector on a “tethered” unit, which means the cable is fixed to the charger, and can charge up to 80% in as little as 20 minutes. Many use the same international standards and are available across Europe. Tesla have recently started to open up their supercharger network to non Tesla vehicles (apart from at many service stations). Tesla often have the lowest price for rapid charging so its worth exploring.
We are talking to many of the rapid charging CPO’s (Charge point operators) and are negotiating lower rates as our club gains free members.
