Primetime EV has covered electric cars since 2005. We’re an independent media network, and we need to make money to keep doing it. Here’s exactly how we do that, and what money can’t buy.
How we make money
- Brand partnerships. Companies in the EV sector work with us on clearly labelled content and campaigns.
- Intelligence work. We analyse what EV drivers actually search for, ask and click on, and sell that insight to companies in the sector. That includes anonymous, combined answers from our free tools. We never sell anything that identifies you, and we don’t sell to councils.
- Affiliate links. Some links on this site, in our videos and on our live streams earn us a fee if you use them to buy or sign up.
Affiliate links, in plain English
Every affiliate link is marked “Ad”, and we label it before you click, not after. If you use one, the company pays us a fee. It costs you nothing extra and never changes the price you pay.
On video and live streams, we say it out loud and show it on screen before we share a link or pin a product.
What money can’t buy
- Our rate comparison table. It ranks on price, full stop. No company can pay to appear in it, move up it, or be left out of it. There are no affiliate links in it.
- Council Checker results. Whether your council allows cross-pavement charging is a fact, not an ad. Commercial links only appear below the result, labelled.
- Our picks. We decide what to recommend first. Only then do we check whether the company has an affiliate scheme. If the best option doesn’t pay us, it’s still our pick, and we link to it anyway.
- Our verdicts. We don’t accept payment or free products in exchange for a positive review. If a company lends us something to test, we say so.
Who we won’t work with
- Fossil-fuel companies, including their EV charging brands. We’ve signed the Clean Creatives pledge.
- Car finance, leasing and insurance products. We don’t earn from any of them.
Who owns us
Primetime EV is a division of Presence Team Ltd, a production company. Where Presence’s work touches anything we cover, we say so on that page.
Current commercial relationships
Updated monthly. A company appears here as soon as a commercial relationship is in place.
None yet. We’ll list each partner here as soon as an agreement is signed.
Spotted a problem?
If you think we’ve got a label wrong, or a recommendation looks bought, tell us: partners@primetimeev.com. We’ll fix it and say what changed.
